Apollo Achieves Amazing Resolution. Fast.

Researchers at JEOL in Japan installed Apollo on their microscope, and soon afterwards, were able to obtain a 1.46 Angstrom Cryo-EM reconstruction. Apollo delivered the best resolution they have been able to achieve on their TEM, which was previously equipped with a Gatan K3. A huge thank you to Miori Sakamoto, Takuma Fukumura, and Yuji Konyuba (JEOL Ltd, Akishima, Japan) for this great work. The sample was mouse heavy chain apoferritin and experiments were performed on a JEOL CryoARM300-II. Total exposure time was 800 milliseconds and exposure rate was 12 e-/pixel/s. This map is available at EMDB-33707 and the data is at EMPIAR-11101.
