BHELLA GROUP: 2Å RESULTS

Lumazine electron micrograph

HIGH-RESOLUTION RECONSTRUCTION OF LUMAZINE SYNTHASE

The fascinating icosahedral structure shown here is Lumazine Synthase. It was imaged via CryoEM by David Bhella and his group at the University of Glasgow with the JEOL CryoARM300 and the DE-64 direct detection camera.  The Bhella group reported a 2 Angstrom resolution for this reconstruction, and this has been released on EMDB. Images were acquired at 141 FPS with 2 x binning and electron counting. The reconstruction was performed with 16,258 particles.
